I have 2 year old stains in my carpet from wear shoes in and out of the house as well from just general use,I didn't vacuum most of the stains up when I should of,I've tried the carpet cleaners at Home depot with no luck,I bought a carpet cleaner at target with no luck,I've sprayed folex on with no luck,would a professional carpet cleaning tech be able to remove the stains as well what type of party to they use or what type of liquid? If your projects have been "shelved" (heh) due to high construction grade wood prices, it might be worth checking in again. I truly never thought we'd see these prices again.
